That’s not to say there’s still no bumps in the road — Jeopardy! fans were stunned when Mayim Bialik, the Blossom star and co-host of the franchise, announced on Instagram she would be stepping down from hosting the syndicated version of the show in December of 2023.
“It took me off guard, because I loved working with my Mayim and I’m gonna miss her,” Jennings toldTHR. “I can’t speak to her decision-making process or her opinions about it. “But on my end, I’m just a fan ofJeopardy!and I’m always delighted to host when they call upon me. I just feel extremely lucky to have even been considered for this job as a non-broadcaster.”
Bialik and Jennings had dual hosting roles during a rough period inJeopardy! history, after cycling through a series of guest hosts and executive producer Mike Richards briefly being installed (and then ousted one episode in) as the show’s showrunner and host. Sony has since confirmed that Jennings will assume sole syndicated episode hosting duties, and that Bialik would continue to work on the show’s primetime specials.Editor’s picks
