The 7 travel essentials we ALL need. — Live with Elle (2024)

Just over two weeks ago, I made the permanent move to London. It was a ridiculously long flight, but there were certain items that made the transition easier times a million. These are all travel essentials that I personally would never leave home without again, and I’m stoked to share them with you in the hopes that they help you as well.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist

If you’ve ever flown on a long haul flight, you’re probably familiar with that awful feeling of severely dehydrated skin. Your skin has any moisture sucked out of it, and you’re left feeling like an old hag. The Jurlique rosewater is one of my favourite all time products, and one spray leaves you feeling revitalised and super fresh. It conveniently comes in a 50mL bottle (that will last you ages anyway), and is small enough to go on as carry on in your bag.

Globite Neck Pillow

I’m normally not inclined to travel with a neck pillow, as every single one I’ve ever used didn’t assist with sleep at all and instead hindered the entire process. When I was sent the Globite memory foam pillow, I was sceptical. I was proved 100% wrong by this nifty travel essential. I was insanely comfortable and for the first time in my life, actually fell asleep for longer than 30 minutes (7 hours in total, which for me is a record!). It’s super light to carry round, and has a nifty clip at the end so it won’t fall off mid sleep.

Jett Black Suitcase

Most people are always on the hunt for the perfect suitcase. Stylish, affordable and lightweight as heck. When I first stumbled across the Jett Black range, I was in heaven. They’re all beautiful and a modern traveller’s dream, everywhere I go people ask where my luggage is from. I have the Check Black, and it was the perfect size for carry on. The zip up lining separates the suitcase in half, which is perfect if you’re like me and love to change clothing halfway through a flight so you feel fresh for landing.

Blue Ant Soul Pump Headphones

There is no wiser investment in life than a decent set of headphones, and these are seriously my favourite thing ever. They’re extremely comfortable, affordable and stylish. I wear them nearly every day and can zone out wherever I am. At the moment I'm sitting in a cafe eating a smashed avocado (how typical!) and listening to the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack... ha ha!

Globite Silk Eye Mask

There’s nothing worse than when you’re travelling and staying somewhere where the light hits you right between the eyes, no matter what time it was. I’ve found as I’ve tried to sleep in London the light has been annoying the crap out of me if I’ve been trying to get an early sleep. An English summer means it doesn’t get dark until 9pm, and it gets light super early. Enter, my saviour, the silk eye mask. It’s a real beauty and extremely lightweight as well, making it the perfect travel essential.

Adidas Superstar Shoes

When you travel, comfortable shoes are an absolute MUST. You'll walk more than you ever have... especially if you're a tight-ass like me and prefer to walk for three hours than pay for an Uber! I've worn my Adidas nearly every day and they're seriously the best thing to walk around in. They're stylish, light on your feet and go with just about any outfit. I'd highly recommend these over a pair of sandals or boots any day as they recover from the water and grime really fast and last ages.

Cotton On PU Biker Jacket

Just as you need a decent pair of shoes when travelling, you also need a jacket that goes with everything. The Cotton On Biker Jacket is easily my favourite jacket I own, and I think I've worn it every day this trip. It's extremely comfortable, warm and also looks great placed on your shoulders if you get warm. It's super affordable and is a real asset to my travel wardrobe.
