Very Nice Place

Stayed for a week, campsites are spacious and level very quiet and clean beautiful place. Will stay there again. Prices are the same as everyone else around but the sites are large enough that we didn’t mind paying the price for privacy.

Do Not Trust Google Maps

This is a nice, basic campground. Gravel pads are a little small for a 40' 5th wheel & truck. Google sent us to a TRAILER PARK!! Fortunately, a couple of residents helped us turn around. The entrance is about a quarter mile PAST the trailer park. You will see the cemetery dead ahead (npi)? & the sign to the camp ground is on the left. You go down a gravel road past a couple of houses.

Great Campground

This is not a resort style campground with a pool or any over the top amenities. However it is extremely convenient to be in the middle of the outer banks where you can explore the area and get to see this wonderful island. The campground currently is having covid restrictions that have the bathhouses closed. All the sites that I can tell are full hookups. Sites are level with gravel and plenty of nice grass between sites. Not crowded either. Just around the corner from the Wright Brothers memorial. I highly recommend this campground.

Nice Places

Very clean and spacious campground, staff was very friendly and helpful with things to do in the area. This was a little different than what we were used to. No campfires unless you bring your own fire pit, there are no ground fires aloud anywhere on the island. There is no campground store, but plenty of places to purchase supplies locally. Bills seafood right outside the campground entrance, to buy local seafood. We were there on the beginning of the off season so the place was very quite.

Great Non Resort Campground

Site 25, great for those with small kids because you can see them from your site, also very close to bathhouse, laundry, trash dumpster, and office. This was our first nonresort campground, it was great. Being so close to the strip, beach, and all OBX attractions made it great. Bathhouse was very clean and well kept. Nice water view sites (not #25).

It’s A Nice One

This campground is located conveniently within the Kitty Hawk area. The road leading to the campground could use some attention but keep your speed down and you’ll have no issues. Once inside the the campground the roads are well maintained and easy to navigate. In general, the campground’s facilities are really good. The owners of this campground obviously take pride in their facilities and keeping appearances up. The bath house was clean and good working order. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. This facility is a do over again for us.

Nice Location

Sites are long and quite wide. Could use a few trees for shade on each site, but nice cut grass. Had site 14 near the water. Our late September visit was great not many campers. Great weather. Could use a campground host after the 3 PM office closing. Helpful & friendly office staff.Sights we saw...Wright Brothers memorial, NC wild horses, great food, beaches and good friends all within a short distance of the campground. This is a place we'll visit again just for the food and friends.

OBX

Looks nice but that is deceiving. Grassy wide sites with gravel and full hook ups, close to scenic water around it. Lots of rain while staying there and our site was not graded correctly so there was a huge puddle from our steps for the next 10 feet toward our truck. Lasted for 6 of our 7 days. Entrance road was gravel with lots of pot holes and we picked up a nail in a tire before entering the campground. Entrance road has permanent residents and campground has no gate/security. Rules say absolutely no check-in before 2pm. We could have arrived before 2pm but decided for a later arrival. We called about 1pm just to touch base and was told the office closes at 2 and our paperwork would be in an envelope taped to the office door. Late arrivals during quiet hours. Much better campground than others nearby but too expensive for what it is.

Great Place

Great campground in so close to the beach we were able to ride our bikes over for the day. They are located right behind the rights brother memorial so your access to everything super easy clean very nice people and spacious lots. Also for the first time ever I think we didn’t have to level our RV.

RV Camper

Clean and spaciousStayed here for spring break. Just a nice quiet and neatly kept campground. Plenty of open space on the waterfront property to enjoy. All sites are packed gravel back in, but have plenty of room to maneuver. Besides the clean large bathrooms, amenities are basic. Though a 5 min. drive and we were back on the strip right in the middle of everything. Overall just a nice roomy campground to come back to and relax after a day out enjoying the banks.

Hidden Gem!!

Just an all around nice place to get away. Plenty of room in between sites for some privacy and an immaculate view. Staff is friendly and helpful, grounds are well maintained with a large , clean shower room. Positioned just off the center off the main drag; enough to where it’s peacefully quiet but a short drive to the beach, grocery store and Wright brothers museum. We were in spot 12, will return again....and again!

Great Place!

We usually stay down in Rodanthe when we go obx'ing, but wanted to be closer because of Hurricane Maria (in case of evacuations). I was very nervous and skeptical, we love our normal campground, so i knew this one would be a let down.I'm so happy to say that I was waaayy wrong. This place was immaculent (as far as grounds went, didnt use facilities). The sites were good sizes, with PLENTY of room to walk the dog and let the kids play. The price does seem a bit high ($70/night), and if you're looking for a resort with a pool, ocean access, arcade- this is NOT the place for you. But if you're looking for something quiet, clean and basically in the middle of anything you could want to do, this is it. They also worked with all of us campers on the Hurricane and put their customers safety before the almighty dollar. Highly reccomend and we'll def be back.

Spacious And Clean

Clean campground with room to run. Showers were also clean and plenty big. Highly recommend if you like a peaceful slow setting. WiFi worked better during non peak hours but we didn't rely on it and we didn't rent the cable so no TV for us on this stay. Staff was very nice. We will stay here again when in OBX.
